Bite AI — Privacy Policy

Bite AI ("we", "the app") helps you track nutrition by analyzing photos of your food and your goals. We built the app to collect as little as possible. This policy explains what we handle and why.

Information we handle

• Profile & goals (name, age, sex, height, weight, activity, dietary preferences, targets): stored locally on your device. We do not upload or store it on our servers.
• Food photos & meal text: when you scan a meal, barcode, label, or your fridge, the image or text is sent to our secure processing service to generate a nutrition estimate. Photos are used only to produce that estimate and are not stored after processing.
• Health data: if you enable Apple Health, the app reads/writes only the nutrition and body metrics you approve. This stays between your device and Apple Health.
• Purchases: subscriptions are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.

No account required

Bite AI does not require you to create an account, and we do not collect emails, contacts, or location.

Third parties

To generate nutrition estimates we use Anthropic (the Claude AI API) as a processor for the image/text you submit. Subscriptions and app distribution are handled by Apple. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Data retention & deletion

Your profile and logs live on your device; deleting the app removes them. Meal images sent for analysis are not retained after the estimate is returned.

Children

Bite AI is not directed at children under 13.
